Welcome to Haijima Baptist Church!
If you have never been to a church before, there is no need to worry. Everyone is welcome! You are welcome to attend our worship service whether you are a Christian, exploring Christianity, or simply curious about the Bible. If you do not have a Bible, we can provide one for you to use during the service. There is no special dress code, so please come as you are. During the worship service, there is a time for offering. However, visitors are not expected or required to give.
Our worship services are mainly conducted in Japanese, but we welcome English speakers and people from different countries and cultural backgrounds. If you contact us in advance, we can prepare an English translation of the Sunday sermon to help you follow along.

I'm not a Christian. Can I visit your church?
Absolutely! Everyone is welcome, regardless of their religious background or beliefs. You do not need to know anything about Christianity before visiting.
I'm from another country. Can I join your church?
Of course! We warmly welcome people from all countries, cultures, and backgrounds. We hope our church can be a place where you feel welcomed and connected while living in Japan.
I don't speak Japanese very well. Can I still attend?
Yes! Our worship services are mainly conducted in Japanese, so you may not understand everything. However, you are always welcome to join us.
We can also prepare an English translation of the Sunday sermon if you contact us in advance. Our church members will do their best to make you feel welcome.
Do you have worship services in English?
At present, we do not have a separate English-language worship service. Our Sunday worship service is mainly in Japanese.
However, we can provide an English translation of the sermon upon advance request, so English speakers can follow the message more easily.
Can I bring my children?
Yes, absolutely! Families with children are always welcome. You are welcome to attend our worship service together with your children.
I don't have a Bible. Is that okay?
No problem! We can provide a Bible for you to use during the service.
Is there a dress code?
No. You do not need to wear anything special. Please come in whatever clothes you feel comfortable wearing.
Do I have to pay anything?
No. Attending our worship service is completely free.
There is a time for offering during the service, but visitors and those who are not Christians are not expected or required to give.
Can I ask questions about Christianity?
Of course! If you have questions about God, Jesus Christ, the Bible, or the Christian faith, we would be happy to talk with you.
